How do I create and remove an Addon Domain?

“Addon domain” is older cPanel terminology. In current cPanel, use the Domains interface to add or manage an additional domain. Menu labels and permissions can vary by server.
Add a domain
- Confirm that your hosting plan and cPanel account allow another domain.
- Register the domain and configure its DNS with the nameservers or records provided by your host.
- Sign in to cPanel, open Domains, and choose Create a New Domain.
- Enter the domain name and review the document-root setting. Use a separate folder for a separate website; share the primary domain's folder only when you intentionally want both domains to show the same site.
- Create the domain, upload the website files to the selected document root, and confirm the DNS points to this hosting account. Enable or check SSL after the domain resolves to the server.
Remove a domain
Before removing a domain from cPanel, make a verified backup of its website files, databases, and any email you need to keep. Record its DNS settings and confirm that you selected the correct domain. Then open Domains, use the available Manage/Remove option, and review the confirmation carefully.
Removing a domain from cPanel changes its hosting configuration. It does not cancel the domain registration, and it may interrupt the website or related services. Confirm what the cPanel prompt will remove before accepting; do not assume files or mailboxes will be preserved. Update DNS separately if you are moving the domain.
